More than 200 hectares of hazelnut orchards planted in liberated territories of Azerbaijan

In recent years, more than 200 hectares of hazelnut orchards were planted in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan by entrepreneurs, and planting subsidy has been paid for these orchards, said Azad Jafarli, Head of the body of the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, as he delivered a speech during an international conference titled “Increasing the potential of hazelnut: Innovative approaches to increase productivity, quality and export volume”, APA-Economics reports.

He said that according to the resolution of the Subsidy Council, under certain conditions, 5,000 manats planting subsidy will be paid for each hectare of hazelnut orchards planted in new areas from September 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024.

“Paying 730 manats for planted intensive gardens and 250 manats for traditional gardens is planned. Overall more than 13 million manats of planting subsidies were paid to hazelnut farming in January-September of 2023,” A.Jafarli added.
