"The participation of the international community in events like COP29 in Azerbaijan is important as it allows them to observe stability and discover opportunities. This also means additional finance and investments," Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, said during an event on "Better Cotton" held within the framework of COP29, APA reports.
He mentioned that the areas cultivated with cotton in Azerbaijan are increasing every year. However, one of the main concerns is the limited water resources.
He also added that Azerbaijan places great emphasis on the implementation of innovations in agriculture and is focused on digitalization in this sector. Efforts are being made to introduce and apply new technologies in Azerbaijan. One of the main priorities is to enhance the skills of farmers and develop non-traditional farming systems.
"I believe that the discussions held during COP29 provide opportunities for sharing experiences," the minister concluded.
