In January-August of this year, Azerbaijan imported sugar and confectionery products worth USD 139 728,2 thousand, according to APA-Economics' calculations based on the report of the State Customs Committee,
The cost of imports increased by 3.4% compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, the country exported 20 890,06 tonnes of sugar, which is 56,4% less than in January-August 2021. The value of exported products amounted to 14 106,36 thousand US dollars. The figure is 43.7% less than the same month last year.
In the eight months of this year, the share of sugar in total exports was 0.05%, while the share of non-oil exports was 0.75%.
