Agrarian projects in Karabakh and East Zangezur will contribute to regional food security, said  Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye Abdulkadir Polat, at the II Azerbaijan-Türkiye Investment Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

He said that Türkiye is implementing a large-scale policy towards the digitalization of agriculture, its transition to an environmentally friendly and high-value-added model.

According to him, digital agricultural applications, mobilization for water efficiency, development of drought-resistant seeds and climate-friendly support mechanisms are being applied in Türkiye. The Deputy Minister noted that this experience creates an important basis for expanding agrarian cooperation with Azerbaijan.

A. Polat emphasized that the vision of agrarian development that Azerbaijan has formed, especially in the areas that have been restored and brought back into production, adds additional dynamics to cooperation. According to him, the creation of agroparks, modern production areas and logistics centers in the Karabakh and East Zangezur regions will serve not only the national development of Azerbaijan, but also strengthen regional food security.

The Deputy Minister said that the combination of Türkiye's technological, managerial and institutional experience with the strong potential of Azerbaijan will allow for the formation of an exemplary cooperation model based on the "win-win" principle for both sides.

A. Polat added that Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation is not limited to agriculture and is also developing within the framework of a strategic partnership in the fields of energy, transport, and trade.
