Import of tea in Azerbaijan prevailed over tea export by more than 10 times

During January-July of this year, Azerbaijan exported 808,03 tons of tea valued at $ 5 524,86 in total, the State Customs Committee told APA-Economics.

Compared to the same period of the last year, during seven months of the current year, the value of the tea exported from Azerbaijan in creased by 4,2%, while its volume decreased by 1,9%.

In the reporting period, the overall share of tea in the total volume of export equaled to 0,06%, while its specific weight in export of non-oil products equaled to 0,53%.

Besides, in the reporting period, 8 402,88 tons of tea with the total value of $ 34 059,28 thousand were imported into Azerbaijan. Compared with the same period of the last year, the value of the imported tea increased by 18,5%, while its volume increased by up to 14%.

In the reporting period, the share of tea in the total volume of import made up 0,58%.

As is seen, during the past seven months of the current year, the tea import prevailed over tea export by more than 10 times in Azerbaijan.
