200,000 baby cypriniformes were released into the Khachinchay reservoir-PHOTO -UPDATED

The next fish release was held in the Aghdam district in order to protect biodiversity, enrich water bodies, and increase the fish population in Karabakh and East Zangezur, said the Press Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, APA reports.

According to Firuddin Aliyev, head of the Biological Diversity Protection Service, 200,000 baby cypriniformes were released into the Khachinchay reservoir in the Aghdam district with the participation of employees from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated part of Karabakh Economic Region.

"This year, in total, more than 600,000 baby cypriniformes and 8,000 baby golden trout were released into natural water bodies in the liberated territories," said Firuddin Aliyev.

The service's chief urged all fish-breeding businesses to carefully engage in the acts of releasing fish babies into water bodies, to promote the growth of fish stocks in the country, and people to desist from actions that inhibit the growth of fish stocks, particularly illegal fishing.
