Veterinary Service announces results of bird flu monitoring in Azerbaijan

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva â€“APA. The Veterinary Service of the Ministry of Agriculture issued results of the bird flu monitoring in Azerbaijan. VS press service told APA the monitoring being conducted from March 10 and pathological materials of 20 wild birds hunted by selective method, as well as blood samples of 1984 fowls brought form the different poultry farms of the country were tested in the Republican Veterinary Laboratory. No bird flu virus was identified in the samples.
The monitoring was conducted in Absheron peninsula, temporary settlement of migrant birds, in the national parks and reserves of the regions of Devechi, Salyan, Agjabedi and Lankaran, as well as in the coastal areas. Experts didnâ€™t found ill or dead birds during the monitoring.
The next bird flu monitoring will be started on April 20.
