Bread loaf price fell 30% in Azerbaijan’s some regions

According to APA-Economics survey, the price of loaf fell about 30% in several regions while bakeries added 100-150 grams to a loaf in some regions.
APA local bureaus report that the weight of a loaf was increased by 50-100 grams to 450 grams while the price was unchanged at 30 kopecks.
The price of a loaf fell 33% to 30 kopecks while the weight was unchanged in Goychay and Daghlig Shirvan.
The weight of a loaf was increased by 150 grams to 500 grams in Lenkeran and southern regions, also in Shirvan and Mughan regions.
A loan weighing 400-450 grams is sold for 20 kopecks in Salyan.
There has been a 10 kopecks decline in prices in northern regions while the weight was cut by 100 grams.
The price is unchanged in Aran regions (500 grams-30 kopecks)
The weight was increased by 80-100 grams in Ujar, Zerdab and Kurdemir.
The price and weight of a loaf is unchanged in western regions, including Gandja (400 grams-40 kopecks), also in Berde, Terter, Goranboy, Aghdam, Aghjabadi, Fuzuli.
The price and weight are also unchanged in northwestern regions, including Sheki and Zagatala.
The price is unchanged in most directors of Baku while the weight has been increased.
Islam Ibrahimov, Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture, told APA-Economics that the decline in the bread prices in some regions are due to the increase in grain production in the country:
«In addition, the Government has extended the exemption of grain imports from customs duties and VAT for one more year. It also played a role in the fight against speculation” he added.
He added that 2.481 million tons of grain was harvested and 790 800 tons wasimported this year.
