Azerbaijan gets 36% rise in grain production this year

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA-Economics. 2.481 million tons of grain was produced in Azerbaijan in 2008, up 36% on last year, said the Ministry of Agriculture.
Of this, more than 1.670 million tons was wheat.
The productivity was 0.9 metric centners higher this year.
Besides, 790 750.4 tons of wheat was imported during January-September, down 13.9% on the same period last year.
