Azersun Holding controls 25% of oil market in Georgia

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s largest conglomerate, Azersun Holding Group of Companies- won 8 medals at the 8th Fat and Oil Industry-2008 International Conference in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Kazim Babayev, officer of the company, told a press conference that Azeri oil products, manufactured in Azersun-owned Baku Yagh ve Gida Senaye Plant, won 4 gold and 4 silver medals in the taste test competition.
Hasan Asgarov, marketing officer of the company, said the companyâ€™s oil products are also sold in Georgia, Russia and Kazakhstan.
According to him, Azersun Holdingâ€™s market share is 20-25% in Georgia.
He said vegetable oil consumption is increasing year by year in Azerbaijan.
Aslan Abdullayev, officer of Baku Yagh ve Gida Senaye Plant, noted that modern processing technology and equipment from the United States, France and Italy are used in oil production. The daily production capacity is 400-450 tons. In the long run it is planned to increase production by upgrading processing technologies.
