Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. The prices of sugar and powdered sugar rose in Azerbaijan in the wake of happenings in Georgia, said Abdolbari Goozal, President of Azersun Holding.
“It is sugar beet harvest now. High price of beet incites producers. We have 200 000 tons of beet in stock for this year. We supplied the demand during happenings in Georgia by processing beet,” he added.
He added that the company has reduced prices of powdered sugar by $20 per ton and vegetable oil by 10%.
“There will be no price rise and prices will be kept at the previous level,” he added.
According to him, Imishli Sugar Refinery’s capacity is 1 100 tons a day and the refinery is capable of supplying Azerbaijan’s demand.
