Azerbaijan to buy 10 000 head of cattle breeds this year

Out of AZN 25 million made available from the Presidentâ€™s Reserve Fund to Agroleasing Company, AZN 10 million will be spent on mineral fertilizers, AZN 6.5 million on the construction of fertilizer storehouses in regions, AZN 5 million on the purchase of wheat seeds, AZN 3 million on cattle breeders and AZN 0.5 million on the improvement of keeping the imported cattle breeders in the country this year.
Azerbaijanâ€™s Minister of Agriculture told a press conference that the decision to allocate funds for activities of this kind will contribute to the dynamic development of agriculture.
He added that special cattle breeders will be imported from Europe.
â€œIt is planned to import 10 000 head of special-breed cattle this year and we will continue importing in coming years too,â€ he added.
He noted about 2.5 million tons of grains will be harvested this year.
According to him, there was a 3.2% rise in cattle-raising during the seven month of this year.
An August 21 presidential decree envisions providing farmers with seeds, fertilizers, good breeds and other assiatnce.
