FAO regional office to be launched in Baku - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

The document was signed by Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abbasov and GAO Director-General Jose Gratsiano da Silva.

Jose Gratsiano da Silva noted that, 25 priority directions of cooperation between the sides were determined in the contract and one of them was the launch of regional office in Baku: â€œWe discussed this issue with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that, this office had to serve not only to Azerbaijan but to the regionâ€.

Director-General noted that, this event was the largest event of the region: â€œEurope is the largest region of FAO. The region has more than 50 members, representatives of 46 states, as well 11 ministers, 17 deputy ministers and 37 ambassadors attended the conference in Bakuâ€.

Note that, FAO 28th regional conference on Europe will end at the second half of the day. Report will be listened and approved. The report will cover support of small farmers, food safety, pesticides, fertilizers, reduction of influence of climate changes, application of relevant standards, gathering statistical information globally and nationally and etc.
