Azerbaijanâ€™s Minister of Agriculture meets with Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku - APA-Economics. Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abasov has today met with the delegation led by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Israel Orit Noked.

Press service of the Ministry told APA that the meeting focused on cooperation opportunities in agriculture and future perspectives.

Minister Ismat Abasov informed the guest about achievements in agrarian sphere of Azerbaijan and stateâ€™s care in this field. He noted that on June 14-17, at the invitation of Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Azerbaijani delegation consisting of officials, scientists and businessmen operating in agrarian sphere acquainted with experience and achievements in Israeli agriculture.

The minister reminded Azerbaijani-Israeli business-forum, held on February 20, 2006, in Baku. The event was organized for the purpose of extension of future cooperation and establishment of new relations in agricultural sphere between the two countries.

By taking the soil and climatic conditions, high export potential and the existence of favorable conditions for foreign investment, intention of local businessmen to invest in areas of the countryâ€™s agrarian economy and bring new technologies into account, Abasov put forward proposals on establishment of cooperation relations on belowmentioned directions:

- development of veterinarian phytosanitary and interministries contract projects for extension of legal base of bilateral cooperation in agricultural sphere between two countries
- exchange of practice in veterinarian, plant protection and quarantine
- cooperation in application of irrigation with the dropping
- implementation of joint projects in purvey, processing and holding of agriculture products;
- organization of trade missions, holding of special exhibitions, promotion of trade, implementation of strategic marketing activities.;
- organic agriculture products and exchange of practice in rendering of useful advice service to farmers in this sphere
- cooperation in agriculture infrastructure and development of equipments before and after harvest
- establishment of cooperation relations among the agrarian scientific-researches institutions
- Organization of symposium, seminars, conference, exhibition and fairs on agrarian sphere for promotion of information exchange on news in agrarian science researches sphere.
