Baku to host FAO 28th regional conference and 37th meeting of European Commission on Agriculture on April 17-20

According to Ministry of Agriculture, on April 16, European Non-Governmental Organizations/Civil Society Consultation event will be held in Baku.
Ministry of Agriculture will host the 28th regional conference. Officials of 53 European and Central Asian member-state of FAO, EC will attend the conference. UN other organizations, several Intergovernmental and International Non-Governmental Organizations were invited to the conference as supervisor.
European Commission on Agriculture is a preparatory event for Regional Conference on Europe. The 37th meeting will be held on April 17-18, 2012, and the agenda includes discussion of the Working Program and Budget of the organization for 2012-2013, as well debuts on land and gender equality.
The regional conference aims to approve the FAO Working Program and Budget for 2012-2013, determination of priorities for region in agriculture, forestry and fishing spheres for 2014-2015.
On April 19, a ministerial round table on “Policies on food safety in the region, perspectives and difficulties in this sphere – condition of the food in 2050†will be held.
Several parallel events to be provide the debuts and discussions among the delegations and supervisors from the member states will be organized during the conference week.
