Azerbaijan increases grain harvesting by 25% last year

Baku. Ali Ahmadov â€“ APA-Economics. 2,458.500 tons of grain crops were collected in 2011, in Azerbaijan, up 23% compared to 2010.

During the reporting period, main growth in grain harvesting was provided by increase of productivity. That is, harvesting made 25.4 centners from 1 ha, this figure was 20.7 centners in 2010.

Last year, grain harvesting soared 25.4% compared to previous year and made 1,641 thousand tons.

Last year, stocking of autumnal and spring grain and leguminous crops rose 23.7%, corn â€“ 13.1%, sunflower for grain â€“ 27%.
