Deputy minister Behram Aliyev: â€œPrice rise of food in Azerbaijan has artificial characterâ€

According to his words, which led to the recent appreciation of meat and eggs, measures must be taken for the prevention of price rise "For example, you need to check why the price of eggs or meat is rising. Why prices should rise if the country is now at 80-85% independently satisfying domestic demand for meat, and there is no shortage of this product?â€
To him, the main reason of the price rise is traders: â€œThere are traders and concrete measures must be taken against them. The Ministry of Economic Development has organs in connection with it, that is, they will be engaged in itâ€.
Aliyev noted that price increases can be considered natural in the case when the market for these products is dependent on imports: â€œIn this case we could talk about price rise, but we manufacture these products inside the country, why their prices should rise?â€.
