Azerbaijan increases production of vodka and beer

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. 597.9 thousand dal alcoholic beverages was produced in Azerbaijan during January-July, 2011, up 2.2% compared with the figures for the corresponding period last year.

SSC says, during this period 9.6 thousand dal champagne, 486.7 thousand dal vodka, 346.4 thousand dal of wine, 2 715.6 thousand dal of beer and 39, 6 thousand dal brandy (cognac) was produced in Azerbaijan: “Compared to last year, production of champagne decreased by 43.5%, wine - 5.1%, brandy - 19%, and the production of vodka increased by 1.5% beer - 3.5%”.

Along with this, in January-July of 2011, 12.407 thousand dal soft drinks were produced in Azerbaijan, up 7.1% from a year earlier.

Note that, during the reporting period finished goods inventory of alcoholic beverages amounted to 868.7 thousand dal, soft drinks - 915.2 thousand dal. Stocks of finished products rose 32%, non-alcoholic beverages - by 4%.
