International seminar on agriculture kicks off in Baku - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku. Ali Ahmadovâ€“ APA-Economics. Regional seminar on â€œAgro-business, agro-processing and increase of value-added chain in supporting of potential of the Ministries of Agriculture of the Central Asian republicsâ€ has today kicked off in Baku.

Representatives of FAO, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia are attending the two-day seminar organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Kyrgyzstanâ€™s RDS-Elet non-commercial company. Note that, though representatives of Turkmenistan and Pakistan were expected to take part too, their visit is under question because of some technical problems.

The main purpose of the seminar is to find effective support ways for development of agrarian business and marketing activity in this sphere. Moreover, organizational issues of technical support for other participants working in agriculture and farmers are discussed at the event.

FAO representative Olivio Argenti said that the main difficulties faced by farmers were related with financial and bureaucratic, as well as technical issues: â€œAnd we discuss the increase of ministryâ€™s potential for solution of these issuesâ€.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Behram Aliyev says it is considered to benefit from the international practice and pass a new decision by the participation of ministers in future. Proposals are also being prepared for solution of some problems at the event.
