Azerbaijan increases cotton export by 90%

Baku. Ali Ahmedov – APA-Economics. Most of Azerbaijan exported goods in January-February, 2011, was crude oil. $ 2 929.818 mln - crude oil was exported during first two months, 2011, which makes 86.44% of total export.

According to SCC, crude oil export rose 6.93% compared to a year ago. 5.08% of export was oil products. $ 172.220 mln – oil products have been exported during the same period, up 0.28% from year earlier. Others were vegetable oil and animal fat (share – 1.07%), ferrous metals and their products (0.48%), fruit-vegetable (0.44%), chemical products (0.31%), seedless raw cotton (0.05%), tobacco and products, alcoholic and soft drinks (0.03%) and aluminium and products (0.02%).

Seedless raw cotton export rose 89.77% to $ 1 846.14 mln. Chemical products increased by 60.2% to $ 10.608 mln. Tobacco and products soared 139.04% to $ 0.964 mln, fruit-vegetable surged 21.38% to $ 14.790 mln.

Alcoholic drinks export slipped 73.23% to $ 0.868 mln, Vegetable oil and animal fat dropped 9.31% to $ 36.107 mln.
