Agriculture production decreases by 13% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. As October 1, 2010, 936.3 thousand ha of grain area was reaped and produced 1.863 mln tons of grain in Azerbaijan.

SSC says the average productivity of ha decreased 6 metric centner to 19.9 metric centner. Besides, 1 983.8 thousand tons of corn was produced during the same period.

928.1 thousand tons of potato, 1 104.7 thousand tons of vegetable and 428.3 thousand tons of water-melon production were produced.

The sowing area for cotton rose 42.2% last year. Thus, as of October 1, 12.1 thousand tons of raw cotton was gathered during the same period, up 45.8% compared with a year ago.

The tobacco-cultivation sphere increased as well. Thus, increasing sowing area by 12.6% caused for increasing of tobacco leaf by 44.5%.

Sugar beet was planted in 8.5 thousand ha area for processing. Now, the production of sugar beet made 57.7 thousand tons.

416 000 tons of fruit and berry and 79.8 thousand tons of grape production were gathered, during the period of report. Gathering of green tea leaves rose 30.1% to 468.5 tons.

Azerbaijan produced 241.8 thousand tons of meat, 1 157.5 thousands tons of milk, 903.1 mln eggs and 14.8 thousand tons of hair in 9 months of 2010.

The cost of total agriculture production with the prices in fact made AZN 2 894.3 mln.

Production and services cost in forestry with the prices in fact made AZN 1 160.1 thousand.
