IFAD president visits Azerbaijan

According to APA, IFAD p[resident will take part in the 35th annual meeting of IDBâ€™s Board of governor on June 23-24. He will speak about â€œAchieving food security in member countries in post-crises worldâ€ in the meeting.

Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abbasoc received him today. During the meeting, I. Abbasov spoke about the Azerbaijanâ€™s cooperation with IFAD and said that several projects were realized.

To date, IFAD has supported four projects and programmes in Azerbaijan, with a total investment of US$48.1 million. Nearly 40,000 households, representing some of the most disadvantaged groups and women in rural areas of the country, are benefiting from the projects and programmes. Another rural development project worth approximately $100 million is under preparation jointly with the IsDB.

Note that, During his stay in Baku, Nwanze is expected to hold meetings with the President of the country, Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister and Artur Rasizada.
