Azerbaijan joins International Green Week Exhibition

Baku– APA-Economics. The world’s largest agricultural fair, Berlin’s "Green Week", has kicked off, attracting exhibitors from food, agriculture, and gardening industry from around the world.

The fair, now in its 75th year, is expected to attract some 400,000 visitors, as well as 1,600 exhibitors from 56 countries.

The international selection of products on display include fresh produce, seafood, meats and sausages, beer and wines, teas, herbs, flowers, and much more.

Ismat Abasov, Azerbaijan Minister of Agriculture, joined the event with a delegation of representatives from the government agencies and private firms.

Azerbaijani embassy in Germany said 12 Azeri companies will be exhibiting domestically made products at a special pavilion from January 15 through 24.

Perviz Shahbazov, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Germany, told a presentation of Azerbaijan pavilion that this is the third time for Azerbaijan to exhibit its national products for international visitors.

Ismat Abasov made a report on Azerbaijan’s Opportunities for Development and Cooperation in the agrarian sector, Azerbaijan’s deputy minister of economic development Niyazi Safarov - on the Economic Development of Azerbaijan, foreign relations officer at the German Federal Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection Dr. German Yeub on Azerbaijan-Germany Relegations in the Agrarian Field, and AzPromo President Anar Mammadov on Investment Climate in Azerbaijan.

The presentation was followed by a concert of mugham players and national dancers.

A feast based on Azerbaijan’s national cuisine was offered for participants.

The event was attended by representatives from Germany governmental and non-governmental organizations, mass media and Azeri diaspora.
