Lankaran. Aghaddin Babayev – APA. Local farmers attempted to picket the vegetable mill in Lankaran in a protest against delaying of vegetable purchase by Lankaran Conserve Joint-Stock Company, APA reports. The farmers faced with serious problems in sale of their products, particularly tomatoes.

Farmer Zakir Abiyev told APA local bureau that the vegetable mill is still using the primitive methods of the soviet time. “They created long queue. I am 42nd in the list. How long I can keep my products in the vehicle? Who will compensate the damages if our products go wrong in a hot weather?”

Chief Executive of the Lankaran Conserve JSC Volkan Tanrigulu told APA local bureau that they started purchase of products from the local farmers on July 18. “We have already purchased 350 tons of tomatoes. The water problem forced us to delay the work. We receive water from the Khanbulanchay reservoir. The water pipelines are frequently damaged because those are old and we are forced to replace them. The problem will be solved in the next few days”.
