A group of 318 fighters from the rebel movement "Rapid Reaction Forces" (RRF) has defected to the Sudanese army, APA reports citing African News.
According to him, the group is led by Major General Musa Ali Ahmed. The troops arrived in the city of Ad-Dabba in the Northern State in approximately 50 combat vehicles carrying weapons and other military equipment.
According to Ali Ahmed, the decision to leave the RSF was made due to the lack of institutional governance within its ranks. He stated that his unit is ready to fight alongside the army for the unity and stability of Sudan.
The defectors were met by Colonel Mohammed Saleh Yunis, commander of the border troops. He called on other RSF fighters to join the armed forces. The RSF did not comment on the reports of the unit's defection.
