Azerbaijan defining rules for organizing social workplaces

The rules for organizing social workplaces in Azerbaijan, and the terms of financing workers in these jobs are being defined.

According to Article 25 (financing of salaries of employers and employees) of the revised draft law “On employment”, part of the salary of workers employed in social workplaces for a term no less than 2 (two) years shall be financed by the relevant executive authority for a period no less than three (3) months and no more than twelve (12) months.

The remuneration, increments (coefficients) provided by the system of salaries, as well as other payments for overtime work, and other payments are funded through the employers' resources in accordance with the Labor Code.

Social workplaces are preferred for persons with disabilities and children under 18 years of age with limited health care, persons released from places of detention and persons who are registered as unemployed for more than one year.

The number of social workplaces for each employer should not exceed 5 percent of the total number of employed employees. The wage rate for social workplaces can not differ more than 10 percent from the employer's wages in other workplaces.
