The only force that can resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is Russia, Putin, said Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, APA reported citing Haber 7 TV channel.
“I will raise the issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict at the earliest of opportunity at today’s trilateral meeting with my Russian and Iranian counterparts in Sochi,” said Erdogan.
The Turkish leader recalled that in his previous visit to Russia he discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict with President Vladimir Putin.
“Putin told me he was doing his utmost to resolve the issue. I outlined the need for more sensitivity about the issue of the return of the five regions,” he said.
The conflict has been ongoing for the past three decades since the only force that can settle this problem in the region is Russia, Putin, stressed Erdogan, adding. “If possible today, I will raise the issue once again because the Nagorno-Karabakh problem is also a special issue for us.”
A Syria summit will be held today in Sochi with the participation of the presidents of Turkey, Russia and Iran.
