Georgia’s former energy minister Kahka Kaladze, who was elected mayor of Tbilisi in local elections held in the country on October 21, has begun to fulfill his duties.

Kahka Kaladze was met by former mayor of Tbilisi Davit Narmania in Mayor’s Office. Narmania wished the new mayor success in his future activity, APA’s Georgia bureau reported.

Kaladze noted that much remains to be done in the city. “Our team is able to solve existing problems in the capital. A number of important projects will be implemented in Tbilisi in the next four years,” he added.

Today at 3:00pm, the new mayor will be introduced to the members of his team. As reported, the post of one of Kaladze’s deputies will be occupied by the current energy minister of Georgia, Ilia Eloshvili. The Energy Ministry is expected to be merged with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development within the framework of reforms to be carried out in the government.
