IRGC warplane crashes in southern Iran - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED

An Iranian military plane, belonging to IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps), crashed in the country’s southern province of Fars today morning, state-run IRINN TV reported Nov. 11.

The incident occurred at 8:00 local time (GMT +3:30) when a Sukhoi Su-22 fighter, which was carrying out combat exercises, crashed near Sarvestan city.

Aerospace Force of the IRGC announced that the plane's pilot was killed in the incident.

Investigation teams have been dispatched to the incident location. No further details were reported about the causes of the incident.

A warplane on a training mission crashed on early Saturday near the city of Sarvestan, Iran’s southern province of Fars, APA’s Tehran bureau reported.
