The association agreement with the EU which came into force on 1 September 2017 is a roadmap for European-oriented reforms in Ukraine, said Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

“The agreement should not be perceived only as the introduction of a visa-free regime,” Klimkin told a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov in Baku on Tuesday, APA reported.

According to him, the entry into force of the association agreement is a manifestation of Ukraine’s accession to Europe.

“This agreement also creates new opportunities for trade, and this is an initial step. Our main goal is to join the European Union,” Klimkin added.
