Alexander Timofeev, “minister of revenue and duties” of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), was seriously injured in an assassination attempt in Donetsk, a source told Sputnik on Saturday.
"There have been two explosions, an assassination on Timofeev has been attempted. He has been critically wounded," the source said.
The “DPR ministry” confirmed the assassination attempt.
"The “minister” is fine. His car was blown up, he was provided with medical assistance," the “ministry's representative” told Sputnik.
Timofeev, aka “Sasha Taskent”, headed the separatist combat unit named “Oplot” which fought for the Donetsk airport. After the proclamation of “DPR”, he was appointed “minister of revue and duties” of the self-proclaimed republic, and in 2016, became “DPR” deputy prime minister.
