Odds on Nobel Prize in Literature 2016 revealed

Baku. Farid Mirzayev – APA. British bookmaker Ladbrokes has revealed odds on the Nobel Prize in Literature 2016.

The current favorites, according to Ladbrokes, are Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami (6/1), Kenyan novelist Ngugi Wa Thiong'o (8/1). American writers Philip Roth has 9/1 odds and Joyce Carol Oates 17/1 odds of winning the Nobel.

Indo-British novelist Salman Rushdie couldn’t enter top 10 with 67/1 odds.

Since 1901, the Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded annually to an author from any country who has, in the words from the will of Alfred Nobel. Nobel Prize in Literature 2015 was awarded to Svetlana Aleksijevitj.

The academy announces the name of the chosen laureate in early October.
