The deceased’s son, Sarkhan Taghiyev, told APA that the two suspects of Armenian origin have stood trial, adding that the preliminary hearing is over and Armenian citizen Sergei Karapetyan (1974) and Ukrainian citizen Khachik Montiyan (1980) have been found guilty.

Sarkhan said that after the preliminary hearing, the judge was unexpectedly altered. He added that the next hearing to be presided over by a new judge will take place in the coming days.

Both Armenians are considered to be active Armenian diaspora members in Ukraine.

Note that, Ilham Taghiyev was murdered outside his house in Ukraine’s Kherson city on August 17, 2015.
