Rasul Jafarov faces additional charges

Baku. Shahriyar Alizade – APA. Imprisoned chairman of the Human Rights Club in prison, human rights defender Rasul Jafarov has faced additional charges.

Attorney Fariz Namazli said in his statement to APA Rasul Jafarov was convicted by the Investigation Department on Grave Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s on the Criminal Code’s articles #178.3.2 (fraud) and 313 (falsification of documents).

Note that, R. Jafarov was arrested on August 2. After interrogation at the Investigation Department on Grave Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office, he was convicted of illegal entrepreneurship, tax evasion, and abuse of official powers.

The Nasimi District Court sentenced him to three-month pre-trial detention.
