These relations are based on mutual respect, mutual confidence," Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Elchin Efendiyev told journalists, APA reports.
He said the relations between Azerbaijan and UNESCO are enhancing.
“A number of tangible and intangible values of Azerbaijan are protected through UNESCO,” he said.
Elchin Efendiyev underlined the special role of Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. He said Azerbaijan is hosting the 8th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
“Holding this important session of UNESCO in Azerbaijan is a significant event for our cultural life and public,” he said.
