Azerbaijan and UNESCO sign agreement - <span style="color: red;">PHOTO

Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. Azerbaijan and UNESCO have signed an agreement on holding of the 10th session of Intergovernmental Committee on Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Baku. APA reports that the document was signed by UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova and Azerbaijani Minister of Tourism and Culture Abulfas Garayev.

The agreement covers the decision to hold the event in Baku in December, 2013 and all organizational issues.

Garayev thanked Bokova for attending the 2nd World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue and noted that the working groups have already started activities for holding the 10th session. Abulfas Garayev expressed his confidence that Azerbaijan will cope with the organization of the meeting.

The Minister also said that Azerbaijan respects UNESCO’s activity and Goodwill Ambassador of the Organization, Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva is working actively in this direction.

Irina Bokova said that Azerbaijan’s decision to host the 10th session shows that the country supports and shares UNESCO values.
