Baku.Victoria Dementieva – APA. Secretary General of GUAM Valery Chechelashvili will arrive in Azerbaijan today. GUAM Secretariat told APA that the aim of the visit is to attend the 5th meeting of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly in Baku, on December 19-20. Secretary General of GUAM will hold a number of official meetings in Baku.
Note that the issues on the processes of European integration in the member states, cooperation within the framework of “Eastern Partnership” Program, the roles of the Inter-Parliamentary ties in providing regional and international security, energy potential of GUAM region, participation of the member states in providing energy security, cooperation in humanitarian, scientific and technical spheres will be discussed at the 5th meeting of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly.
The meeting will be the broadest in the history of the organization in terms of the number of its visitors. Along with the delegation of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine member states, the representatives of the Baltic Assembly, the Benelux Parliament, Visegrád Group countries, as well as TurkPA representative will take part in the meeting in capacity of guests.
