OSCE representatives meet civilian wounded as Armenian troops opened fire at Azerbaijan

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. The recent monitoring on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian armies has passed without incidents, the Azerbaijani defense ministry told APA on Oct.9.

The monitoring was held under the mandate of OSCE chairperson-in-office personal representative on the contact line located near the village of Kemerli of Azerbaijan's Gazakh district on Oct.9, the ministry said.

Due to the heavy fog the monitoring groups were first not able to make visual contact. Thanks to radio communication, the monitoring was completed.

On the Azerbaijani side, the monitoring was carried out by the field assistants of OSCE chairperson-in-office personal representative Yevgeny Sharov and Peter Svedberg, and on the opposite by the field assistants of OSCE chairperson-in-office personal representative Jiri Aberle, Hristo Hristov and Simon Teller.

Later on, the field assistants of OSCE chairperson-in-office personal representative Yevgeny Sharov and Peter Svedberg conducted an inspection of the houses damaged as a result of intensive firing by Armenian armed units in the Kemerli village, and met with the residents.

The representatives of the international organization met with Esmira Dursunova, who was wounded as the Kemerli village of Gazakh came under fire from large-caliber weapons from the positions in the Dovekh village of Armenia’s Noyemberyan district at night on September 23.
