Route, movement interval of Baku-Khirdalan-Sumgayit passenger train announced

Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. Route of Baku-Khirdalan-Sumgayit passenger train has been announced.1

Spokesperson for Azerbaijan Railways OJSC Nadir Azmammadov told APA that 8 electric trains will operate from September 15.

The trains will move on the routes of Baku Railway Station-Keshla-Bilajari-Khirdalan-Guzdek-Sumgayit. Azmammadov said the old administrative building in Sumgayit passenger station has already been torn down, and construction of a new building will start soon. At the same time, the new platform in Sumgayit station, tunnel will be launched on September 15.

3 of 8 trains are double-deckers produced by Stadler Rail Group’s Stadler Minsk plant. Each of these trains contains 4 coaches. Total capacity is 919 passengers, number of seats – 396, including 84 business class. Two more will be brought at the year-end.

The trains will move from 6:00 a.m and arrive in Sumgayit in Baku in 40 minutes. From 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the trains wil depart from Sumgayit of Baku with the interval of 30 minutes, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m – with the interval of 60 minutes, from 4:00 p.m. to 00:00 – with the interval of 30 minutes.

Azmamadov also noted that in the next stage, the electric trains on Baku-Khirdalan-Sumgayit will move in circular railroad. Because, a route covering Saray, Goradil, Fatmayi, Pirshagi, Kurdekhani, Zabrat,Sabunchu, Bakikhanov settlements will be launched from Sumgayit.

The tickets will be sold in all stations and terminals. Thereafter, the tickets are planned to be sold with cards.
