The new sanctions will apply to Rosneft and companies connected with businessman Gennadi Timchenko. The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security is said to be taking this action to ensure the efficacy of existing sanctions on the Russian Federation, RBC TV reported.
The sanctions will be imposed on Rosneft structures –Vankorneft, Neft-Aktiv, Samotlornefteqaz, Orenburqneft, Verkhneconsknefteqaz, RN-Yuqansknefteqaz and a number of oil refineries – Acinsk, Anqarsk, Kuybyshev, Novokuyshevsk, Syzransk, and Komsomolsk as well as Ronseft Trading, Rosneft Trade Ltd, and RN Holding, and also IPP Oil Products, Airfix Aviation Oy, Set Petrochemicals Oy, Southeast Trading Oy and SouthPort Management Service Ltd for their connections with Timchenko.
Moreover, the Izhmash Konserni and Kupol Izhevsk mechanical plants are on the list.
All in all, the sanctions imposed on Ronseft also apply to its substructures. Companies connected with Timchenko will have their assets frozen in the United States.
