Baku-APA. Special services received information that the militants' so-called summer base was located in a forest area in the Kizlyar district, APA reports quoting TASS.
Two gunmen, members of the so-called Kizlyar gang involved in plotting terrorist attacks last autumn, were destroyed in Russia's North Caucasian republic of Dagestan.
Special services received information that the militants' so-called summer base was located in a forest area in the Kizlyar district, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee's press centre told.
"While scouring the forest between the villages of Nechayevka and Matseyevka, the Spetsnaz troops came under automatic fire. Two gunmen were neutralised as a result of shooting and pursuit which lasted almost 24 hours," it said. "Unfortunately, we cannot avoid losses among law enforcers - the Russian Interior Ministry's Internal Security Troops serviceman was killed."
