Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. During a meeting with families of the 20 January martyrs, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade urged to bring President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev before the international court of justice.
The CMO chairman stated that 20 January events were the attempt of drowning the Azerbaijani people's sense of freedom, demand in blood made under the instruction of the Soviet President.
“Thus, the Azerbaijani people have the right to sue killers whose hands are stained with their blood, especially Mikhail Gorbachev. The world community should know that mass terror against the people of Azerbaijan is amongst the bloodiest terrorist attacks committed by ‘totalitarianism’ in the twentieth century. The Karabakh conflict was the continuation of 20 January tragedy. The people should demand its assessment.”
