"MIG-29” and “F-16" fighter aircrafts carried out training and combat flights through various maneuvers, APA reports quoting official website of Defense Ministry.
“F-16" provided air support to "MIG-29” carrying out air strikes to destroy ground targets.
The defense minister said the exercises are being carried out under the instruction of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
“Azerbaijan and Turkey had earlier held joint military exercises. However, Azerbaijani and Turkish Air Forces are holding joint exercises in Azerbaijan for the first time. One of the main points is that Azerbaijani and Turkish pilots supported one another during the exercises. I highly-assess these exercises. We will continue such large-scale exercises,” he said.
The exercises will continue till October 3.
