French President, Turkish PM discuss export of Azerbaijani gas to Europe

APA reports quoting Hurriyet newspaper that during the one hour meeting Hollande brought up the issue of Europe’s energy security.

The sides broadly discussed the importance of the project of Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) in the export of Azerbaijani gas to Europe.

The crisis in Iraq and Syria were also one of the main topics of discussion at the meeting. Hollande said that France and Turkey have the same positions on both Syria and Iraq crisis.

Hollande asked Erdogan to strengthen the supervision in order to prevent the young French jihadists from crossing to Syria via Turkey to fight. Erdogan said that Turkey is a country of tourism and it is difficult to carry out supervision.

The Turkish Prime Minister stressed that 22 young French people were deported from the country and there are only about 200 young French people in the country. He asked France to submit a blacklist in order to prevent the young French people from crossing to Syria via Turkey.
