ANAS told APA that directors were elected at general meetings of the ANAS departments.
19 new directors were appointed to ANAS institutions and scientific centers according to the results of the elections at today’s meeting of ANAS Presidium.
On Department of Physics-Mathematics and Technical Sciences: Academician Telman Aliyev has been elected as director of the Institute of Cybernetics, corresponding member of ANAS Adil Garibov - as director of the Institute of Radiation Problems, corresponding member of ANAS Rasim Aliguliyev - as director of the Institute of Information Technology, Ayyub Guliyev - as director of Shamakhi-based Tusi Astrophysical Observatory, doctor of physico-mathematical sciences, professor of Misir Mardanov - as director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics and doctor of physico-mathematical sciences Nazim Mammadov - as director of the Institute of Physics.
On Department of Earth Sciences: Academician Akif Alizadeh has been elected as the director of Institute of Geology, ANAS correspondent member Ramiz Mammadov – as the director of Institute of Geography.
On Department of Humanitarian and Public Sciences: Academician Isa Habibbayli has been confirmed as director of Institute of Literature, ANAS correspondent member Tofig Hajiyev – director of Institute of Linguistics, Academician Nalia Valikhanli – director of National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, ANAS correspondent member Rafael huseynov – director of National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature, ANAS correspondent member Teymur Karimov – director of Institute of Manuscripts, doctor of philological sciences Govhar Bakhshaliyeva – director of Institute of Oriental Studies, doctor of philosophical sciences Ilham Mammadzadeh – director of Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law.
On Department of Biological and Medical Sciences: Academician Mammad Salmanov has been elected as director of Institute of Microbiology, doctor of biological sciences Ulduz Hashimova – director of Institute of Physiology.
Doctor of Philosophy on geology and mineralogy Zakariyya Alizadeh has been confirmed as the director of Shaki Regional Scientific Center.
Under another order, doctor of philosophy in biology Zarbali Khalilov has been appointed as Deputy Director of Shaki Regional Scientific Center, doctor of philosophy in history Ramin Sadigov – as scientific secretary of the Center.
