APA reports that the march took place from Pushkin square to Sakharov avenue.


Activists held the Ukrainian and Russian flags, chanted slogans "Ukraine, we are standing by you!", "No war!". The police say 3000 joined the march. The organizers say tens of thousands of people joined the march. Interior Ministry said the participants of the action were against annexation of Crimea to Russia.


The people supporting the actions of the Russian authorities also held a rally in Moscow. Police say 15 000 people joined the rally. According to the Russian Interior Ministry, they support Crimea and are against of fascism.


On March 1, Russian Federation Council empowered President Vladimir Putin to deploy troops in Ukraine. Russian Federation Council attributed it to the necessity to protect the Russians and Russian-speaking people in Ukraine.
