A voluntary blood donation campaign was launched in the mosque at 09:00.
Chief consultant of the Health Ministry's medical assistance department Dadash Humbatov told journalists that on the occasion of Ashura Day, the Caucasian Muslims Board and the Ministry of Health are jointly holding blood donation campaigns in Baku and regions.
The campaigns are being held in 8 places in Baku and in 7 places in regions.
As of 09:00, 536 people have donated blood. Compared to the previous year, it is 172 people higher.
The ministry official noted that more than 5000 people are expected to participate in the campaigns.
