Baku hosts 1st Forum of Economic Think Tanks of ECO member-states

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. Today, the 1st forum of Think Tanks of member states of Economic Cooperation Organization has kicked off in Baku.

According to APA-Economics, heads of Economic Think Tanks of ECO member states, scientists from different countries of the world are on a visit to Baku to participate in the event.

Baku Business Center hosted the 1st international conference on “Energy, Regional Integration and Socio-Economic Development” within the 1st Baku Forum of Economic Think Tanks of ECO member states.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sevinj Hasanova informed about socio-economic state, as well as macro-economic indicators. She noted that Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover with ECO countries reached 10%, Azerbaijan’s strategic currency stocks increase, poverty level reduced to 6%: “Azerbaijan ranked 39th in the Global Competitiveness Report of World Economic Forum”.

ECO Secretary-General Shamil Aleskerov said eco-science researches have an important role for economic development of the countries: “Economic study center within ECO will support economic development of member-states”.

Moreover, it was also noted at the conference that ECO bank, established a year ago, will contribute to economic development of member states.

At the same time, sessions on agriculture, regional integration and trade issues are held within the conference.
