Azerbaijan allocates $ 5 mln to Palestine

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. Azerbaijan will allocate $ 5 million for the realization of the projects on the development of Al-Quds, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki told journalists, APA reports.

According to him, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stated at the conference in Baku that Azerbaijan had allocated $ 5 million to inspire other countries. “Unfortunately, it has not produced the expected results. Today's participants may have no right to make a decision. The OIC Secretariat will probably start to contact with each country in this regard," said Mammadyarov.

The Minister expressed satisfaction with the conference and his gratitude to Azerbaijan and all those who contributed to the success: “I highly estimate Azerbaijan’s contribution to this work.”

Commenting on the relations between Azerbaijan and Palestine, the Minister said that these relations are very promising: “Our relations with Azerbaijan are an example for the development of relations between friendly countries”.

Baku has today hosted a donor conference for supporting Palestine. The member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation discussed the strategic plan for the development of Al-Quds. A budget of $500 million is planned to be set in this regard.
