Our relations are on the level of strategic partnership,” Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloghlu told journalists, APA reports.

The Ambassador said that problem may arise between any neighboring countries: "It may also occur on the level of collision of national interests. However, Russia and Azerbaijan can always discuss any problem. We can explain our positions and solve any problem through negotiations.”

He also commented on the reports about strained relations between Russia and Azerbaijan: “It is not right to look for problems in the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. For example, the issue on the suspension of the operation of Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline has been discussed for more than 10 years. Russia said Azerbaijan had exported little volume of oil via this pipeline. Baku stated that Azerbaijani oil price fell as Russia added its oil to the pipeline. Thus, the Azerbaijani side transported oil through the pipeline less than considered. As this project became unprofitable for both countries, the decision was made to suspend the operation of the pipeline. I am confident that this issue will be solved with the participation of experts as well. This pipeline likely won't remain inactive.”
